Bamboo fungus, also known as bamboo fungus and bamboo ginseng, is commonly eaten in four varieties: long-skirted bamboo fungus, short-skirted bamboo fungus, echinococcus fungus, and red-colored bamboo fungus. It is a kind of cryptogamic fungus parasitized on the roots of dead bamboo and is shaped slightly like the skin of a webbed dried white snake.
It has a dark green cap, a snow-white cylindrical stalk, a pink egg-shaped butt, and at the top of the stalk there is a delicate white netted skirt spreading downward from the cap, which is known as the "Snow Skirt Fairy" and "Flower of the Mountain Treasures", "flower of fungi" and "queen of fungi". Bamboo fungus is rich in nutrients, strong in flavor and delicious in taste, and has been listed as one of the "eight treasures of grass" since ancient times.

At maturity, the peridium splits open, and the stipe pushes the cap out, the stipe is hollow, 15cm-20cm high, white, and composed of spongy pores; the peridium is left in the lower part of the stipe to form a butt; the cap is born on the top of the stipe in a bell shape, and the surface of the cap is uneven as a lattice, and the concave part is covered with dense tamarindospores; there is a white reticulate fungal curtain under the cap, and the cap is pendulous like a skirt, and it is more than 8cm long.
Bamboo fungus is a typical medium-temperature fungus. The growth temperature of mycelium is 4~28℃, and the optimum temperature is 20~23℃; below 16℃ or above 36℃, the growth is slow. The temperature for the formation of the substrate is 17~29℃, 20~24℃ is preferred, and the optimum temperature is 22℃; higher than 28℃, the growth is slow and weak; above 35℃, the growth stops; lower than 15℃, the development is slowed down, and the mycelium shrivels up or appears deformed.
The temperature referred to here is the mycelium and the growth of the substrate in the environment temperature, that is, the medium is located in the underground 5 to 20 cm deep and the substrate differentiation of the underground 1 to 30 cm deep temperature. Because there is a big difference between the temperature of the surface and the underground at the same time, in general, the temperature of the surface is higher than the underground temperature, and the deeper you are from the surface, the lower the temperature. Cultivation should pay attention to this point.
