The principle is that HPV-infected cells overproliferate and produce keratin that is different from normal cells. The keratin coagulates when it encounters acetic acid. Although the test is simple and easy to perform, false positives or false negatives can occur.

If the acetic acid white test is weakly negative, it means that the acetic acid white test result is suspicious. It may be negative or positive, but the test result is not very clear.
