Traditional Chinese medicine believes that impotence is a disease of male genitalia, which refers to the penis part of male external genitalia, belonging to the kidney, so it is also called external kidney, also known as qianyin. The channels of yin and yang of human body meet in the anterior yin, so they are called zongjin. The Qian Yin (yin organ) passes through the meridians of the liver, the governor and any meridian. Because of the loss and dysfunction of the meridians, the physiological function of the Qian Yin is directly affected, resulting in "yin flaccidity" and "yin organ disuse". The kidney governs the storage of essence, as well as the front and back yin, which is the innate foundation of human beings and the main fertility. If the kidney yang is secret, the yin essence is full, and the yang is prosperous and can have children. If kidney essence is insufficient and yang has no yin essence to nurture, impotence is seen. In addition, the kidney is really yang deficiency, so it can't be strong (strong penis erection and its sexual intercourse ability), or panic injury to the kidney can also cause impotence. Spleen is the foundation of heaven, the source of qi and blood, and it transports essence to the kidney, while the kidney is nourished. The pulse of Yangming (stomach) is "combined with the tendons", and the spleen and stomach are strong after tomorrow, and the yin essence is filled, and the yang potential can only vibrate the male (that is, the penis). On the contrary, "Yang Ming deficiency leads to vertical tendons". Therefore, the trend is declining and the waste is used. Liver-type strips are the main tendons, and the main tendons are concentrated in the vulva. If the liver loses its function of dispersing and discharging, it will also make the tendons flaccid. In addition, damp-heat bets on the liver and kidney, causing the tendons to relax and not to receive, while yang does not lift; Thinking too much hurts the heart and spleen, and can also cause flaccidity.

Modern Chinese medicine divides impotence into the following types for syndrome differentiation and treatment.

(1) Deficiency of kidney yang. Because of the deficiency of Yang in the body, or kidney injury caused by long-term illness, or wanton indulgence, excessive sexual intercourse, or uncontrolled masturbation, kidney yang deficiency and yuan yang deficiency can not promote sexual function for a long time, so sexual desire decreases, but impotence does not lift. So the patient's face? White, listless, cold limbs, weak waist and knees, chills in the back, accompanied by spermatorrhea, cold semen, frequent urination, dizziness and tinnitus. The tongue is light, fat and tender, with teeth marks, heavy pulse and weak feet. Treatment should be warming kidney and strengthening yang. Commonly used Yougui Pills are: Radix Rehmanniae Preparata15g, Fructus Corni10g, Fructus Lycii15g, Rabbit Silk Seed15g, Rhizoma Dioscoreae15g, Cortex Cinnamomi 6g, Radix Aconiti Lateralis Lateralis10g, and Fructus Bambusae. Decoct with water. Chinese patent medicines can choose Jinkui Shenqi Pill, Quanlu Pill, Wuzi Yanzong Pill, Yougui Pill and Zanyu Pill.

(2) Deficiency of both heart and spleen. Excessive thinking, heart and spleen injuries, passive qi and blood biochemistry, or weakness of middle qi and failure to recover blood gas after a long illness can all lead to relaxation of the tendons (that is, the penis is not lifted due to malnutrition, or it is not firm to lift). The patient suffers from palpitation, forgetfulness, insomnia and dreaminess, emaciation, loss of appetite, weakness, abdominal distension, loose stool, sallow or pale complexion, pale white tongue, thready and weak pulse, and the treatment should be beneficial to the heart and spleen. Guipi decoction is often used to add or subtract: Codonopsis pilosula12g (or ginseng 3g), Atractylodes macrocephala10g, Poria cocos10g, Astragalus membranaceus15g, longan15g, Ziziphus jujuba seed10g. Decoct with water. Chinese patent medicines can be Guipi Pill, Shiquan Dabu Pill and Liujunzi Pill.

(3) Stagnation of the liver. Long-term frustration, anxiety and anger, or long-term marital disharmony, or disharmony in sexual life, make the liver lose its function of dispersing and discharging, leading to incompetence and impotence caused by the accumulation of tendons. Patients are often irritable, upset, irritable, hypochondriac or painful. Sleep is dreamy, food is unpleasant, loose stool is uncomfortable, and the fur is white and the pulse is string. Treatment should soothe the liver and relieve depression. Commonly used Xiaoyao powder is modified: Bupleurum root 9g, Angelica sinensis10g, Pillow peony15g, Atractylodes macrocephala12g, Poria cocos10g, Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata 6g, Rhizoma Cyperi 6g, Radix Curcumae10g and Aspongopus 6g. Decoct with water. Chinese patent medicines can be selected from Jiawei Xiaoyao Pill, Shugan Pill and Shugan Zhitong Pill.

(4) Hot and humid betting. Eating too much fat and sweet, sorghum and thick taste, drinking too much will hurt the spleen and stomach, transport too much, accumulate dampness and generate heat, and damp heat will accumulate, which will lead to the relaxation of the tendons and tendons, leading to the failure to lift yang. Patients often suffer from nocturnal emission, scrotum swelling due to dampness and itching, or even swelling and pain, swelling and pain in lower abdomen and penis root, burning pain in urine, soreness in waist and knees, bitter dry mouth, red tongue with yellow and greasy fur, and slippery pulse. Treatment should clear away heat and promote diuresis. Longdan Xiegan Decoction is often selected for addition and subtraction: Longdan10g, Scutellaria baicalensis10g, Gardenia 6g, Plantago asiatica10g, Alisma orientalis10g, Akebia Akebia 6g, Fructus Cnidii10g and Jin Lingzi/kloc-0. Chinese patent medicine can choose Sanmiao Pill, Longdan Xiegan Pill and Danggui Longhui Pill.

It is worth noting that patients with damp-heat should not drink alcohol, let alone drink alcohol. Because the wine is hot, it is easy to help damp heat. Impotence caused by damp-heat is not uncommon in clinic. As early as the Ming Dynasty, Li Shizhen once pointed out: "Drinking less will promote blood circulation, strengthen the spirit to keep out the cold, dispel worries and promote heritage, while drinking too much will hurt the mind and consume blood, damage the stomach and kill essence, and cause phlegm and fire.". Shakespeare, a great British dramatist, once said: "Wine arouses desire, but it also makes behavior become a bubble." It is enough to show that excessive drinking can lead to impotence.

The traditional oral treatment of ancient Chinese medicine, briefly recorded one or two, originated from the Han and Tang dynasties, and there are prescriptions from the surviving monographs. For example, the recipe for treating male impotence contained in the Secret of Jade House and the Guide to Jade House or making the yin grow generous, and the "Bald Chicken Powder" and "Deer Dissolution" recorded in Cave Xuanzi. The Sutra of the Plain Woman has also introduced some prescriptions for treating impotence, such as treating impotence in men who can't afford it, but don't get up strongly, being heartless, having little yang, and having a weak kidney source. The prescription is Cistanche deserticola and Schisandra chinensis each 1 g, Fructus Cnidii, Semen Rabbit, Fructus Aurantii Immaturus each15g, sieving, and taking square inch Bi with wine three times a day. You can also use male moth (dry, unmated) 1 2g, asarum herb and cnidium fruit12g, pound and sieve, and take1pill when mating, which can make the penis strong. If the yang is strong, it can be washed to make it impotent. In addition, to make the penis strong, pepper, asarum and cistanche deserticola can be equally divided, pounded and sieved, and placed in the dog's gallbladder and hung on the house for 30 days. When used, the penis can be rubbed to make it strong. To make the penis grow, another oral prescription can also be used. Its composition and dosage are: 2 g of Semen Platycladi, 0/5 g of Ampelopsis, 3 g of Atractylodis Macrocephala, 0/g of Cinnamomum cassia, 0/g of Aconitum carmichaeli and 0/g of Kloc. Apply the medicine and grind it into powder, twice a day, and take 1 square inch bi after each meal, and use10 ~ 20. It can strengthen yang every day.

Yu Fang Zhi Yao also records the prescription to make men strong and have strong sexual desire. Its composition and weight are: Fructus Cnidii, Herba Cistanches, Radix Polygalae and Radix Dipsaci in equal parts, ground into powder, and taken three times a day, each time 1 square inch. All the parties listed above, regardless of oral administration and external treatment, mostly used kidney-tonifying and yang-strengthening drugs by the ancients to strengthen sexual function. It has certain effect on treating secondary impotence.
