Second, distinguish couplets, usually through the following five methods to identify:

1, leveling method: Look at the last word of the couplet, the last word of the first couplet is three tones and four tones (leveling), and the last word of the second couplet is one tone and two tones (leveling).

2. Differentiate the pasting method of couplets: The requirement of pasting couplets is that the upper part is on the right and the lower part is on the left. Because ancient people wrote from right to left. It is difficult to distinguish couplets in this way now, because many people simply don't know and paste them casually. So it's easy to identify mistakes.

3. The distinction between meaning and method: Each couplet has its own specific meaning. When writing couplets, the profound implication is generally regarded as the bottom couplet, and the value of the top couplet is more of a guiding role. The upper and lower links are basically causal, because it is the upper link and the fruit is the lower link.

4. The distinction of time relationship: the old time is the first link in front, and the new time is the second link behind. This is generally reflected in the Spring Festival couplets during the Spring Festival. Commonly used are the zodiac and the old year/new year.

5. Scope size distinction: Generally speaking, the small scope is the upper part, and the large scope is the lower part, such as common words such as "Jianghai" and "Heaven and Earth".
