(1) Select suitable varieties.
Potting cherry tomatoes is actually a dwarfing culture way. In the selection of varieties, the best policy should be top-capped varieties, such as beaded tomatoes bred by Institute of Vegetables and Flowers of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Sijihong of Taiwan Province Nongyou Seedling Company, etc. These varieties are easy to dwarf, with concentrated results and strong ornamental value. If you choose infinite growth varieties, such as Shengnv from Taiwan Province Nongyou Seedling Company, Huangyangli from Japan and Cherry Red from Holland, you need to take measures such as coring and hormone treatment to realize dwarfing culture.
(2) Sow in time to cultivate dwarf and strong seedlings.
According to the temperature and cultivation facilities in various places, choose the appropriate sowing date. For example, in spring greenhouse cultivation in Huanghuai area, it is generally sown in early February of 1, planted in early February of the following year, and sold out of the shed when the first part of1ear turns red in early April.
One of the keys to the success of potted cherry tomatoes is whether they can cultivate dwarf and strong seedlings. After sowing, when the seedlings have 3 leaves (limited growth varieties) or 4 leaves (infinite growth varieties), 0.05% chlormequat was applied to the seedbed, and the dosage per square meter was about 1000 ml, so as to inhibit the elongation of seedlings, promote the thickening of stems and make the leaves dark green. The temperature should not be too high during seedling raising, and it should be 20 ~ 25℃ during the day and not lower than 10℃ at night. In addition, watering should be controlled during seedling raising. Exercise at low temperature about 7 days before planting.
(3) colonization.
When big buds appear in the 1 inflorescence of seedlings, they should be planted in pots, and the seedling age is about 60 days.
Pot soil should be prepared before planting. The composition of basin soil can vary from place to place, and generally farmyard manure, vegetable garden soil and coal ash are used, with the ratio of 4∶5∶ 1. Among them, farmyard manure should be fully decomposed, garden soil should be dug from the soil where solanaceous vegetables were not planted in the last two years, and coal ash should be sieved. After the above components are fully mixed, 0.8 kg of diammonium phosphate and 0.5 kg of potassium sulfate are added to each 1 m3 of pot soil, and mixed evenly.
Cover the greenhouse film10 ~15 days before planting, and put the pot soil into the pot 5 ~ 7 days before planting. The upper opening of the flowerpot is 25cm in diameter, and the flowerpot is neatly placed in the greenhouse. Generally, there is one row for every 2 pots, and the distance between rows is 25 ~ 30 cm. After planting, root water is poured, and then covered with a small arch shed for heat preservation.
(4) Temperature management.
Close the greenhouse and arch shed about 5 days after planting to promote slow seedling growth. If the temperature is too low, cover it with straw curtains. After delaying seedling, properly ventilate to keep the temperature in the shed at 20 ~ 25℃ during the day and10 ~15℃ at night. 5 ~ 7 days before the emergence and sale, increase the ventilation volume and extend the ventilation time to adapt to the external environment.
(5) plant regulation.
3 ~ 5 days after slow planting, insert short bamboo (50 ~ 60 cm) at the edge of the plant (about 5 cm away from the root). If possible, insert some ornamental materials instead of bamboo poles, or insert 3 pieces in each pot to form a triangular cone. Potted cherry tomatoes must bear fruit mainly on the main vine. When the side branches of the 1 batch are 5 ~ 6 cm long, they should be pruned in time, and then they should be erased every time they occur. Infinitely growing varieties, after the formation of 3 ears of fruit, pick the core, and keep 2 functional leaves on the 3 rd ear of fruit. The yellowing old leaves at the base were removed in time. At the beginning of flowering, due to the low temperature, it is difficult to set fruit, so measures must be taken to ensure that it sets fruit. You can spray flowers with anti-falling agent at a concentration of 20 mg/L, or tap bamboo poles with tools such as pencils around noon to promote pollination and fruit setting.
(6) Fertilizer and water management.
Top-dressing fertilizer water 1 time after fruit setting and full fruit stage, and 5 grams of diammonium phosphate is poured into the pot with water each time. Generally, top-dressing is not needed in the future, and the surface of the pot soil is not dried or watered. After leaving the shed, the family management should take the pot soil as dry and wet. If watering is needed, it should not be too much, as long as the pot soil is kept wet.
There are also pests and diseases in potted cherry tomatoes, and the control methods are similar to those in ordinary cultivation. Please refer to the relevant contents in this book.
If temperature conditions permit, cherry tomatoes can be potted in winter and spring. Because the cherry tomatoes cultivated in this season, the sales season is during New Year's Day and spring, the household consumption is large, and ideal economic benefits can often be obtained. The key points of potted cherry tomatoes in winter and spring are as follows:
First, choose the appropriate variety. Generally, varieties suitable for potted plants (dwarf type) and with ornamental value should be selected. At the same time, varieties are required to have strong disease resistance, high seed setting rate, wide adaptability and early maturity. Such as delicious cherry tomatoes, grape spike fruit tomatoes and so on.
Secondly, the matrix is prepared. The substrate used needs vermiculite, peat, waste mushroom material and so on with good permeability and strong water and fertilizer retention ability. The ratio of vermiculite, peat and waste mushroom material is generally1:2: 2. After the three substrates are fully mixed and screened, 2 kg of crushed compound fertilizer is added to each cubic meter, and the mixture is fully mixed for later use.
Third, raise seedlings. The sowing date of cherry tomato cultivated in winter and spring varies from place to place. For example, it can be sown in the middle and late August to early September in the northern region, and in the middle and early September in 10 in the Yangtze River basin. Cherry tomato seedlings are relatively thin, so it is advisable to use one-time seedling. 72-hole tray can be used to raise seedlings. Direct seeding in qianzi and sowing after germination can be done. Before emergence, the temperature should be controlled at15 ~ 30℃, after emergence, the temperature should be controlled at 20 ~ 25℃ during the day and at13 ~18℃ at night.
Fourth, go to the basin. When the first inflorescence of the seedling is visible to the naked eye, it begins to be potted. At this time, the northern region is generally from late September to1early October, and the Yangtze river basin is generally around1early February. When placing pots, the substrates prepared in advance are put into flower pots with a diameter of 30 cm and a height of 20 cm respectively, and the substrates are compacted by hand, and then planted, each pot 1 plant. Water the pot properly and replenish the substrate so that the surface of the substrate is 2 cm away from the top of the pot.
Fifth, management. Temperature management should be mainly carried out after the pot is put on, and the daytime temperature should be controlled at 20 ~ 25℃ as far as possible, and the nighttime temperature should be controlled at15 ~ 20℃, and the lowest temperature should not be lower than 10℃. When the seedlings are delayed, insert a bamboo pole with a length of 60-80 cm into the pot (the bamboo pole is about 4-5 cm away from the base of the plant), then tie the vines and prune them. Only the main vines are reserved for each plant, and all the lateral branches are removed. Generally, there is no need to water in the early stage after planting. When the first inflorescence blooms, it can be watered once. When the second inflorescence bears fruit and the third inflorescence blooms, it is watered once every 10 day. It is advisable to wet the basin soil for watering. Around New Year's Day, when the first inflorescence fruit starts to turn red, it can be sold. Before selling, remove the old leaves at the base of the plant.
