Rudong belongs to the north subtropical oceanic monsoon climate zone. All seasons of the year, light, abundant rainfall, frost period is not long, the monsoon is obvious, mild and humid. Guoqing Temple
Guoqing TempleGuoqing Temple in Rudong County, Nugang Town Development Zone in the southeast. According to historical records, Rudong's Buddhism originated in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Dug Harbor Guoqing Temple and one of the country's eight famous Buddhist mountains in Zhejiang Tiantai Mountain Guoqing Temple with the same clan and the same legal system, all belong to the Tiantai sect. The Guocheng Temple in Zhejiang was built in the 18th year of the reign of Sui Kaihuang (598 A.D.) by Zhiyi (yǐ) (also known as Zhi Zhi), the 10th ancestor of the Zhiyi lineage and the head of the Tiantai Mountain Xiuchan Temple, Grandmaster Xingman, who came to Rudong during the Yuanhe years of the Tang Dynasty (806-820 A.D.) and spent fourteen years founding the Guocheng Temple of Dugang in accordance with the architecture of Guocheng Temple of the Tiantai Mountain.
Dugang Guoqing Temple in the Five Dynasties, Song and Yuan years, repeatedly damaged by war, until the Ming Wanli nine years (AD 1581), the monk Shao Rugraphy (yín), can Liang fund-raising rebuilt, and set up a monument as a record. History
◇In July of 838 A.D. (the third year of the Tang Dynasty), the Japanese Tiantai Sect monk, Master Yuan Ren (Note: a disciple of Japan's Venerable Master Most Cheng, who entered the Tang Dynasty to study under Master Hsing-Man and returned to Japan to found the Japanese Tiantai Sect) came to China with Fujiwara Tsunesu, Japan's thirteenth expatriate envoy to the Tang Dynasty, to seek the Dharma tour, and ran aground off the coast of the Rudong, and stayed in Rudong. He came to China with Fujiwara Tsunesu, the 13th Japanese ambassador to the Tang Dynasty, seeking the Dharma, and was stranded on the coast of Rudong. After returning to China, he wrote a book entitled "Journey to Tang Dynasty", which contains many references to Dugang and Guoqing Temple.
◇In 1645 A.D. (the second year of Emperor Shunzhi of the Qing Dynasty), the people of Rugao (at that time, Rudong belonged to Rugao) rebelled against the Qing Dynasty's order to shave their hair, and Chen Junyue and others started an uprising to fight against the Qing soldiers, which was later suppressed.

Dialect

Jumping Mafia Painting: Rudong folk painting art has a long history and is said to have been imported from Suzhou during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty (1862-1874) as a branch of Taohuayu woodblock prints. Dance: "Jumping Mafu" was originally a dance for the gods in Rudong, and the god sacrificed was "Master Dutian". According to legend, "Master Dutian" is the posthumous name of Zhang Yan, the guardian of the Tang Suzong. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, when Japanese pirates often harassed the coast, the local people sent their love to Zhang, remembered the martyrs, and prayed to the gods to eliminate disasters and bring good fortune, so the worship gradually evolved into the "burning of Mafu incense", which has been practiced for hundreds of years.
In 2010, the "Jumping Mafu" of Rudong County, Jiangsu Province, was selected as one of the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage, in the category of traditional dance programs, serial number 1.
