Upright shrub, 40-60 cm tall. Branchlets covered with silvery white short hairs. The leaves are odd-pinnate, alternate, 3 to 5 cm long; leaflets usually have 9 to 13 leaves. Opposite, eggs. The leaves are rectangular or oblong, 1.5 to 1.8 cm long, with entire edges, covered with T-shaped hairs, and the leaves are blue-black when dry.
