1, planting time
Green beans can be planted in spring and autumn. In most cases, the sowing time in spring is from February to April, which can be advanced in the south and in April and May in the north. Sowing in autumn is usually in August-September, and the temperature in the south is still very high at this time, so it can be postponed to September 9- 10/October.
2. Land selection and preparation
Choose sandy soil with good drainage and rich organic matter. Because kidney beans have weak saline-alkali tolerance, it is appropriate to keep the soil pH value above 6.2 and below 7.0. In order to avoid the infection of green beans by pests and diseases, it is suggested to avoid continuous cropping.
The remaining methods
It is best to sow before and after beginning of spring, with high yield. Green beans are mostly broadcast directly, with two rows of trailing varieties in each border, the row spacing is 60-70cm, the hole spacing is 25-30cm, and 3-4 seeds are sown in each hole. Dwarf varieties have 4-5 rows in each border, the hole spacing is 25-30 cm, 2-3 seeds are sown in each hole, and then covered with wet soil for 2-3 cm.
Green beans like to be dry and afraid of being wet, and their seeds are perishable, so they should be watered once before planting vines, and not watered before flowering. Water should be watered every other week during the pod-setting period, but it should be decided according to the actual situation. More water should be watered in the dry season, but not in the rainy season. When the vines begin to grow, set up a frame and weed them in time, and weed them every half month. Harvest in time when the pods are mature, that is, the beans will grow into a circle, but the seeds in the pods are not clearly visible.
