environmental requirement
For the young Brazilian tortoise, using a flat-bottomed container for breeding, plastic tanks and aquariums can all be used to build its home. The water in the container should not be too deep, just over your back. Each young turtle should have five liters of water, and the water depth should not exceed the length of the turtle, so that the turtle can support its feet when breathing on the water.
In addition, it is best to make an island with bricks and stones in the fish tank (floating island is not applicable, because young turtles often can't climb it, and it is in vain). This island doesn't need to be too big, just need to meet the needs of Brazilian turtles. It is worth noting that islands and decorations should not become dangerous obstacles, so as not to get stuck and drown young Brazilian turtles.
For the Brazilian tortoise, its most suitable growing water temperature is 20~32℃, and its feeding temperature is 20~35℃, but its appetite is strongest at 29~32℃. Stop eating at 36℃, dormant at 38℃, and tolerate high temperature of 40℃. When the temperature drops below 16℃, it is dormant, and there is a risk of zombie below 1℃.
Instructions for turtle selection
No deformity, no wrong nails, no odor, strong limbs, lively, crawling without mopping the floor.
Young Brazilian red-eared turtles can be raised in a flat-bottomed container without any difficulty. Plastic tanks, glass jars or boxes, and aquariums are all suitable. The water should not be too deep, and the depth is good for them to swim.
A flat plastic tank with an island and a plastic coconut tree in the middle is the most unsuitable because:
(1) is too small;
(2) No heating rod can be added;
(3) misleading users to use the island as a place to feed. Because the red-eared turtle feeds completely in the water, the result may be that the island is piled with feed, while the turtle is starving.
