Pumpkin, a species of Cucurbitaceae, is an annual creeping herb. Cucurbita pepo, an annual thick grass vine, is native to India, and is planted in the south and north of China. There are three major strains: dwarf, semi-creeping and creeping. Most varieties of zucchini have obvious advantages in main vines, but few in lateral vines. Stems stout, cylindrical, with short white bristles.
