North Railway Station, also known as Chengdu Railway Station, is an ancient railway station that has been used for 70 years. It is the oldest railway station in Chengdu and the earliest railway station established locally. This railway station has a long history and carries many beautiful memories of the old Chengdu people. Chengdu North Railway Station was built on 1952 and officially put into use on June 1952.
The earliest Chengdu North Railway Station is an important station on the chengdu-chongqing railway, and chengdu-chongqing railway is a 1 railway independently built by China. It is said that Chengdu North Station at that time was just a row of red tile houses, which looked particularly shabby and was indeed a place that many people yearned for. At that time, local residents went to this place to take pictures every day. This row of leaking red tile houses has been used for more than 30 years. It was not until 1984 that the new station of Chengdu North Railway Station was put into use.
After the transformation, Chengdu North Railway Station became a local landmark building, which attracted the attention of many passers-by. At that time, there was a beautiful street garden opposite the station, surrounded by beautiful fountains and a large number of buttonwood trees, and the natural environment was particularly good. With the development of Chengdu, there is a street park opposite, but the fountain is gone. Now there are more and more people standing on the station, and many tall buildings have been built around it, which has greatly changed the surrounding environment of this railway station.
Since it was put into use for 70 years, Chengdu North Railway Station has undergone many transformations, maintenance and reconstruction, but the main building of this railway station has not changed much. Many old Chengdu people will think of the old railway station when they see this main building, and even think of those old days, but now this railway station has been officially closed. According to the local plan, it will be built into a large-scale transportation hub and commercial center, becoming a new symbolic existence of Chengdu.
