Remove the lasagna pastry from the freezer ahead of time and soften at room temperature. The picture shows the Meiji chocolate used as the centerpiece. You can also use other chocolates, as long as they are narrower than the width of the puff pastry halves.
Step 2
Split each piece of puff pastry in half and place two Meiji chocolates on each half of the puff pastry, just narrower than the width of the pastry.
Step 3
Roll the puff pastry from the bottom to the top, and when you've finished with one half, roll the other half until you've finished with both.
Step 4
This is a side view of the rolled out pastry. When placing it on the baking sheet, press the head of the pastry underneath so that it doesn't buckle during baking.
Step 5
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with greaseproof paper or tinfoil.
Step 6
Place the baking sheet in the middle of the preheated oven and bake at 200 degrees for 20 minutes. Each oven has a different temperament, so keep an eye on them in the next few minutes so they don't overbake. The picture shows the baked puff pastry rolls.
Step 7
While the rolls are cooling, let's make the chocolate ganache. Chop 5 pieces of Dove dark chocolate and set aside. Heat 75g of light cream in the microwave for 1 minute and a half, i.e. the light cream will boil slightly, immediately add the chopped chocolate. Don't stir as stirring at this point will cause it to cool down too quickly and the chocolate won't be able to melt fully.
Step 8
After a minute of standing, stir gently until the chocolate is completely mixed with the light cream and smooth.
Step 9
Drizzle the ganache over the cannoli while still warm.
Step 10
If the rolls are not smooth, you can use a small spoon to drizzle the ganache on every corner.
Step 11
Or just pick up the puff pastry roll and dip it into the ganache.
Step 12
Then you can sprinkle a thick layer of cocoa powder with the help of a sieve.
Step 13
The lazy man's version of a quick dirty bun is done? You should still have some leftover ganache, so you can keep it at room temperature for 1 day or refrigerate it for about 3 days. The frozen ganache can be used as a cake center.
Step 14
For the chocolate ganache, use the Dove Dark Chocolate, which you can buy in the supermarket.
