The growing environment of the Dutch bean
1, light requirements
The Dutch bean is a long day plants. Most varieties in the extended light can be early flowering, shorten the light delayed flowering, but some early varieties of light requirements are not strict. General varieties of pods in the period require strong light and longer sunshine, but should not be high temperature, suitable for planting in the spring and summer alternating period.
2, water requirements
Dutch beans require more water throughout the growing period. Seed germination process, if the soil moisture is insufficient, the seed can not absorb water expansion, will greatly delay the seedling period. The seedling stage can tolerate some dry climate. If the air humidity is too low during the flowering period, it will cause flower and pod drop. If high temperature and drought are encountered during the growth period of pods, it will cause early hardening of pod fibers, premature maturity and reduced quality and yield.
3, soil conditions
Dutch beans on the soil requirements are not strict, in the well-drained sandy loam or newly reclaimed land can be planted, but to loose neutral soil with organic matter is preferable, in the pH 6.0-7.2 of the soil growth is appropriate. Soil acidity below ph5.5, prone to disease and reduce the rate of pods, should be amended with lime.
