I found a bullfrog, but it's too cold to be released. How can I keep it at home? What do you eat vegetarian food?
bullfrog is a temperature-changing animal. When the water temperature drops to 6℃ ~ 12℃, it begins to hibernate. Bullfrogs mainly devour animal pests of crops, and at the same time, they also devour some plant foods, mostly leaf fragments, flowers and plant seeds. But when hibernating, bullfrogs will not move or eat, as long as there is some water to keep humidity. The management of this period should pay attention to the following three points:

Before wintering, it is necessary to ensure that fat bullfrogs do not eat when they enter hibernation, and rely on dissolved oxygen in skin breathing water and nutrients accumulated in the body to maintain low metabolism. Therefore, before the arrival of hibernation, we should pay close attention to the promotion of obesity, put in sufficient and comprehensive feed with high nutritional value every day, and add some fly maggots, loaches, etc. if conditions permit, so as to ensure that bullfrogs have a full stomach and eat well, so as to accumulate nutrients needed for hibernation and reduce death.

In wintering place, bullfrog caves should be dug in the leeward and sunny places, and the size of the caves depends on the scale of breeding. Generally, the diameter of the caves is 1.5cm and the depth is more than 1m. The cave should be wet and avoid being flooded by pool water, and a wind barrier should be set up. In addition, the whole hibernation period should also be strictly guarded against rodent invasion.

The pond surface should be protected from frost. The bullfrog should keep a water layer of 2 cm during the whole wintering period, and a scaffolding should be set on the water surface to prevent frost. That is, bamboo pieces are made into a semi-circular shed above the pool, and covered with grass or film. When the temperature is above 6℃, a part of the film should be opened to ventilate and adjust the temperature to ensure the normal overwintering of bullfrogs.
