1, pack newspapers to ripen
If the durian shell is still there, you can close the durian, wrap the whole durian with newspaper, put it in the shade and leave it for a day or two. Don't use plastic bags, it will suffocate and durian will rot easily.
2, fruit ripening
Durian with shell, which comes back from fruit ripening, can be put together with apples or bananas if it is not ripe, and packed in a bag. In 2-3 days in winter and around 1 day in summer, apples and bananas will release ethylene, which is used for ripening.
3, plastic wrap ripening
If you only buy immature durian meat, you can use plastic wrap to wrap durian piece by piece, and then put it in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
4, microwave heating ripening
Durian meat peeled by microwave oven heating is not ripe. You can wrap the pulp with plastic wrap and heat it in the microwave oven for about 2 minutes, and then see if it becomes soft. If it is not soft, heat it for a while. If it becomes soft, it means it is ripe.
5. Ripening with rice
When I was a child, when persimmons were bearing fruit, I always liked to lay some immature persimmons, and then stuffed them into rice jars for two or three days, and they would become ripe after being taken out. This method is also suitable for ripening durian, because rice will release ethylene during storage. You wrap durian with plastic wrap and stuff it into rice. In two days, durian meat will be ripe and ready to eat.
