What is the artificial casing made of?
Refer to the following:

Artificial casings are made of the skins and tendons of livestock, so they can be eaten. However, the larger the diameter, the thicker the casing. Not suitable for eating. The difference between collagen casing and cellulose casing is that the temperature must be prevented from being too high during thermal processing, otherwise the collagen will soften. Artificial casings can be divided into plastic casings, cellulose casings and collagen casings according to their materials.

Although the price of collagen casing is higher than that of natural casing, its production efficiency is higher than that of natural casing, so the use of collagen casing is economical in cost. Its characteristics are no need to clean and select these preparations, and it is suitable for mechanical filling, and the size of the products produced is neat and consistent.

Production of artificial casing;

1, pretreatment

Animal skin is stripped of epidermis and dermis. Soak in alkaline solution to remove keratin and other soluble components, then rinse with water and soak in acid to make skin starter.

2. Extrusion molding

Cut the expanded skin into strips, then cut it into small particles, mechanically make it into paste (glue), adjust the solid content, and then squeeze it into the tube through the special nozzle on the extruder.

3, repair and drying

After dry coagulation (direct hot air drying) or wet coagulation (first curing with coagulation bath and then drying with hot air), cross-linking with cross-linking agent, drying, cutting and making collagen casing into finished products.
