Distributed in Yunnan, China (from Luquan to Xundian) and Sichuan (Huidong). It grows in mountains with an altitude of 2300-3000 meters. The type specimen was collected from Luquan, Yunnan. The difference between deep-cleft Huangcaowu (variant) Tengwu (Guizhou Shuicheng) and Huangcaowu: the leaves are more divided, the first lobes are nearly pinnate and deeply lobed, and the last small lobes are narrowly oval or lanceolate linear. The leaves are sometimes palmately divided and do not reach the base. Inflorescence hairs appressed.
Distributed in northeastern Yunnan, western Guizhou, and western Sichuan (Luding and Tianquan), China. It is born in the mountainous area with an altitude of 2800 meters. The type specimen was collected from Weining, Guizhou.
The roots are poisonous and can be used medicinally to treat rheumatic joint pain and sores (Guizhou herbal medicine).
