Ginseng looks like a human shape.

Ginseng is a perennial herbaceous plant of the family Pentacostaceae, genus Ginseng. It reaches up to 60 centimeters high; short rhizome, main root fusiform; palmately compound leaves 3-6 whorled at the top of the stem, petiole 3-8 centimeters long, glabrous; leaflets 3-5, membranous, central leaflet elliptic or oblong-elliptic.

Long 8-12 cm, lateral leaflets ovate or rhombic-ovate, 2-4 cm, apex long acuminate, base broadly cuneate, finely serrate, teeth spiny, sparsely covered with prickly hairs above, glabrous below, lateral veins 5-6 pairs, due to the ginseng years deep, the root is like a human shape.

Ginseng growth environment

Soil: ginseng prefer loose texture, good aeration, good drainage, nutrient-rich sandy loam, the best soil phosphorus, potash, and humus is sufficient, usually humus-rich forest soils, granite differentiated soils and mountainous sandy soils are good. Soil pH is generally 5.5-6.5, pH greater than 7 alkaline soil, clay loess and gray bubble soil is not suitable for growth.

Moisture: soil moisture content is generally maintained at 40-50%. During the ginseng seedling emergence in spring, the soil water content is about 40%; in summer, when the temperature rises, the water content is about 45-50%; in fall and throughout the year, it is appropriate to maintain the water content at 45-50% during the growth and development period.

Light: ginseng is a shade-loving plant, cool and moist climate is favorable to its growth. Resistant to low temperature, avoiding strong direct light, preferring diffuse weaker light.

Temperature: When the temperature is less than 10℃ or more than 30℃, ginseng will enter the dormant state. Ginseng is afraid of high temperature and can tolerate severe cold weather, even the low temperature of -30℃ in winter can be safely overwintered.

During the growth period, the best average temperature range is 15-25℃, when the temperature is less than -6℃, the ginseng stem stops growing. After sowing ginseng, the temperature is required to be greater than 10℃ during the seedling emergence period; the temperature is required to be greater than 12℃ during the seedling emergence of 1-2 years old ginseng.
