Origin

This product is the dried roots and rhizomes of Rhodiola rosea grandiflora of the Sedum family.

Trait and flavor attribution

Sweet, bitter, and flat. Attributed to the lung and heart meridians.

Functions and Indications

Benefiting qi and activating blood circulation, promoting circulation and calming asthma. It is used in treating qi deficiency and blood stasis, chest paralysis and heart pain, hemiplegia and stroke, and tiredness and shortness of breath.

Use and dosage

3-6g. Rhodiola rosea can be drunk in water, but the active ingredients in rhodiola rosea are not sufficiently dissolved in water. In contrast, decoction is better, usually soaking rhodiola rosea for 3 to 4 hours, and then decocting it for 40 minutes on low heat to allow the active ingredients in rhodiola rosea to dissolve.
