How to breed black-spotted frogs

1. Venue selection. The breeding site for black-spotted frogs should be kept at a certain height and should not be cultured in low-lying areas to avoid flooding. Then make sure there is enough clean water around. The site is usually located in a rice field with high, flat terrain and far away from noisy areas such as urban areas. After selecting the site, it must be disinfected to remove natural enemies in the rice fields, such as leeches, lobsters, etc. Prevent damage during the tadpole period and increase the hatchability of seedlings. Then we will do a good job in burying the pipes to prevent water leakage, lay a ground net to prevent the black-spotted frog from escaping, and then do a good job in bird prevention to create a safe growth environment for the black-spotted frog.

2. Artificial seedling breeding. First, we need to put the black-spotted frogs with a male to female ratio of one to one into the nursery pond. The water level in the pool is kept at about 40 cm, and several foam boards are placed as feed and a resting place for the black-spotted frogs. After entering October, because the temperature drops, it is necessary to build an insulation shed. And because the temperature difference between day and night is relatively large, you must also pay attention to raising the water temperature at night. Through these methods, we can shorten the hibernation time of black-spotted frogs, extend the development period, promote the gonad development of black-spotted frogs, and advance the breeding time. Then control the breeding methods according to the actual situation, focusing on natural breeding and artificial induction of labor. April to June every year is the main breeding time for black-spotted frogs.

3. Cultivate tadpoles. After successful mating, tadpoles will hatch in about 3 days. Newly born tadpoles should be properly fed with rotifers, egg yolks, etc. as feed and sprinkle them into the water. Then, after a week or so, feed the tadpoles special feed, or prepare your own feed using fish meal, soybean meal, etc. Control the breeding density well. In the early stage, the number of tadpoles per level will be about 800. After two weeks, the number will be reduced to about 400. In the end, the number of tadpoles per level will be maintained at about 200. Then feed the feed at least twice a day, and control the feeding amount according to the tadpole weight, keeping it at about 8%. After about a month, the tadpoles enter the metamorphosis stage. At this time, some water hyacinth and other plants should be put in the water to facilitate the tadpoles to come ashore. Finally, pay attention to regular water changes to ensure water quality and control the water level at about 30 cm.

4. Adult frog breeding. The main method of raising frogs now is rice field farming. Because adult frogs can feed on pests that harm the growth of rice, and the excrement produced by the black-spotted frog can be used as fertilizer to provide nutrients for the rice. Therefore, the application amount of chemical fertilizers and pesticides can be reduced and environmental pollution can be reduced. Rice and black-spotted frog are natural green foods. However, precautions should be taken to prevent escape, and frog ditches should be dug to facilitate the growth of black-spotted frogs. For rice, you should choose varieties that have strong fertilizer tolerance and are not suitable for lodging. The time for releasing adult frogs should be controlled at about half a month after the rice seedlings turn green, and about 3,500 adult frogs of about 15 grams per acre should be released.
