Schistosomiasis liver disease: It is a disease caused by Schistosoma japonicum parasitizing in the portal vein system. Most infections are caused by skin contact with infected water containing cercariae. In your chronic phase, hepatosplenomegaly is the main symptom.

Chronic schistosomiasis liver disease: It is mostly caused by repeated cercariae infection or incomplete treatment in the acute phase, thus turning into chronic schistosomiasis.

Symptoms in the chronic phase vary. Common symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, anemia, fatigue, weight loss, red and white jelly in the feces, hepatosplenomegaly, etc.

During the treatment process, both acute and chronic patients are mainly treated with pathogenic factors. The first drug is praziquantel, and then combined with symptomatic treatment.
