Planting method: Choose a pot and prepare soil
To plant lotus roots, choose a pot as large as possible and prepare a flower pot with a diameter of more than 25 cm.
Do not buy silt directly from the river pond and use it. The silt in the river pond contains a large number of microorganisms and can easily corrode the lotus roots. After digging it back, sprinkle carbendazim in to sterilize it. After sterilization, apply some long-lasting green manure (rotten chicken and duck manure is also acceptable, but it must also be disinfected). Planting lotus root
As shown on the left side of the picture, there is a lotus root tail with a lotus hole. On the right is the lotus root bud. The bud has grown very long, and you can still see a little bit of fibrous roots.
The left hand holds the lotus root tail, and the right hand is the lotus root bud.
With the tail of the lotus root pointing upward, it is mainly used to control the tail of the lotus root and not to allow water to enter the tail of the lotus root. The direction of the lotus root bud does not need to be controlled, it will adjust its position by itself during the growth process.
Put the lotus root into the mud and wrap the whole lotus root with mud. If the buds are very short, they can be buried in the soil together without affecting the growth. If the buds are long, part of them can be exposed outside.
The lotus root tail must be exposed outside the mud, no watering is required, and it should be placed in the sun for a few days.
When the top soil is slightly dry, you can add some water. Completely integrated with the mud. You can add a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer.
