How to raise Tenebrio molitor at home
The family rearing method of Tenebrio molitor is to prepare the feeding box, put in palatable feed, control the temperature and humidity, keep good ventilation and clean the feeding box regularly.

1. Prepare the feeding box.

Tenebrio molitor is very adaptable to the living environment, and almost any box-shaped thing can be used as its food box. However, in principle, it is necessary to find clean and hygienic boxes with appropriate size as feeding boxes or specially customized boxes according to the number of breeding.

Step 2 put in delicious feed

Tenebrio molitor's food is mainly wheat bran, bread crumbs, vegetable leaves and some peels. Artificial ingredients, it is suggested that wheat bran 100g, glucose 20g, cholesterol 0.5g, choline chloride 0.02g, riboflavin 0.5mg and water 40mg.

3. Control temperature and humidity

Tenebrio molitor is cold-tolerant, the overwintering mature larvae can tolerate -2℃, and the young larvae die in large numbers at around 0℃. 2℃ is the survival limit of Tenebrio molitor, 10℃ is the development starting point, and it overwinters above 8℃. 25-30℃ is the suitable temperature range, and the growth and development is the fastest at 32℃. Therefore, it is reasonable to control the temperature at 25-30℃ and the humidity at 50-60% during the feeding process.

4. Keep good ventilation.

During the feeding process of Tenebrio molitor, food leaves, dead individuals and insect feces will give off unpleasant smells, so the feeding box should be placed in a ventilated place.

5. Clean the feed box regularly.

Regularly clean feces, peel and completely dry vegetable skins to prevent odor. The cleaning method is to pour a small net like a screen window into a container for raising insects, so that feces and skins leak out of the net, while insects and dried vegetable skins are left in the net, then the dried vegetable skins are removed, and the insects are poured back into the feeding box, and the screened feces are used as fertilizer.
