The mouthparts consist of 3 pairs of jaw feet, with 2 pairs of large and small antennae at the anterior end. Thoracic limbs 5 pairs, the first pair of powerful chelicerae, the second to fourth pair, long and flat. The terminal claw-like, suitable for crawling, the last pair, flattened and wide, terminal segments lamellate, suitable for swimming. Abdomen reduced, folded below the cephalothorax, no caudal segment and caudal limbs, female abdomen is rounded, male is triangular, abdominal limbs are reduced, hidden in the inner side of the abdomen, 4 pairs of females, used to hold the eggs; males only 2 pairs, and has been specialization for mating apparatus.
