It is a familiar "folk prescription" for many people to kill germs in the room by fumigating vinegar to prevent colds. However, some people reported that in order to prevent colds, after pouring vinegar into the humidifier before going to bed, the family had difficulty breathing, sore throat and nausea in the middle of the night. After turning off the humidifier, the discomfort gradually eased.
Teacher Lu of China Center for Disease Control and Prevention clearly pointed out that vinegar has no effect on disinfection and sterilization, and it is wrong to use vinegar to prevent colds.
There is indeed a folk saying that vinegar can disinfect, sterilize and prevent colds, but disinfection experts have already done experiments to prove that vinegar has no effect on disinfection and sterilization, and it can't kill viruses.
Experts from China Center for Disease Control and Prevention reminded the general public that the best way for families to prevent colds and disinfect is ventilation, instead of blindly smoking vinegar.
