Red Eggs
Red-shelled eggs, also called red-skinned eggs, are simply called red eggs. In the past, red-shelled eggs were laid by woodchucks and white-shelled eggs were laid by foreign chickens; red-skinned eggs were green and thick, while white-skinned eggs were green and thin.
In Chinese folklore there is a folk song: "Red eggs, full of strings, eat your happy buns, eat your red eggs." Chinese folk have traditionally shared red eggs.
The tradition of partaking of red eggs exists everywhere, and the main points are: the myth of oviposition, the myth of auspicious objects, the myth of totem worship, the myth of fertility, and the myth of avoiding evil and avoiding disasters.
