Black tiger shrimp belongs to the sea shrimp.

Black tiger shrimp, also known as spot prawns, for the world's most common varieties of farming, in addition to the same as ordinary shrimp, its astaxanthin content is about 20% higher than ordinary shrimp, so the price is relatively high during the Spring Festival. Black tiger shrimp distribution area is very wide, from southern Japan, South Korea, China's coast, the Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, Thailand, India to the eastern coast of Africa are distributed. China's coast every year, there are two spawning period from February to April and August to November.

Morphological characteristics - large spots colorful

Black tiger shrimp body by dark green, dark brown and light yellow horizontal spots arranged in succession, constituting the abdomen brightly colored spots. The upper rostrum of the frontal horn is 7 to 8 teeth, and the lower rostrum is 2 to 3 teeth. The lateral sulcus of the frontal horn is quite deep and extends behind the supraocular spines, but the lateral ridges of the frontal horn are low and blunt, and the central sulcus of the posterior ridge of the frontal horn is obvious. There are distinct hepatic ridges, no frontal gastric ridges. Strong vitality, meat flavor, individual large, is the largest shrimp in the genus, the largest female shrimp up to 33cm long, weighing more than 500g.
