Raspberries are a summer fruit, fruiting from May to June.
Raspberry vining shrubs, segments elliptic or rhombic-ovate, apical acuminate, base narrowly constricted, terminal segments and lateral segments subequal or slightly longer, biserrate, stipules linear-lanceolate. Single flowers axillary, calyx tube sparsely hairy or nearly glabrous; sepals ovate or ovate-oblong.
Petals elliptic or ovate-oblong, white, tip rounded, stamens numerous, filaments broadly compressed; pistils numerous, pilose. Fruit subglobose, red, densely gray-white pilose; nucleus rugose. Harvested in early summer when the fruit turns from green to green-yellow, remove the stalks and leaves, slightly scalded in boiling water or slightly steamed, removed, dried.
Produced in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Guangxi. Born in low to middle altitude, common in mountain slopes, roadside sunny or shady bushes.
