The planting of fingered citron should start from the aspects of seed selection and germination, transplanting and field management, as shown in the diagram below:

1, seed selection to accelerate germination

When cultivating fingered citron, it is necessary to select a large, disease-free, injury-free seed melon with a melon age of less than 25-30 days, and then put it in a container covered with fine river sand, put it at a temperature of 20 degrees, and wait for two weeks, so that fingered citron will take root smoothly and sprout.

2. Transplanting and planting

After the fingered citron grows about 30 cm long, it can be transplanted and planted, and fertile and loose fields are selected. After deep ploughing, airing and fertilizing, the fingered citron is planted in the fields by pit planting. After planting, it is watered once to make the plants adapt to the environment.

3. Field management

When the water content of Chaenomeles is low in the early growth stage, it can be reduced to keep the soil moist. However, in dry weather, it should be watered 2-3 times a week to avoid the dry seedlings of Chaenomeles. In July-August every year, compound fertilizer should be applied to Chaenomeles, and phosphate fertilizer should be sprayed on the leaves to promote plant growth.

The growing environment of bergamot

Temperature, light and moisture are the main factors affecting the growth of bergamot. Chaenomeles likes warm climate, is not resistant to high temperature and cold, and its growth temperature is 18-25 degrees Celsius. It is a typical short-day plant, which is suitable for growing under moderate intensity of light, and sufficient light can improve its yield. Its growth needs a large amount of water, and it is afraid of drought, but it is not tolerant to waterlogging, and the relative humidity is required to be kept at 80%-90%. Excessive dry climate conditions are not conducive to the growth and development of Chaenomeles.
