Personal opinion There are many types of black rice, usually black-red or black-purple in appearance. The so-called black rice usually only has black skin and white inner core. To distinguish between genuine and fake black rice, the first step is to break it open and take a look, and the second step is to soak it in water. Real black rice has a rough appearance, uniform color, and no signs of penetration. Fake black rice has a smooth appearance and fades after being soaked in water.
How to identify real and fake black rice
There are two common cases of adulteration of organic black rice on the market. One is inferior or inferior black rice that has been stored for a long time. It is dyed and then sold as inferior; the other is to use ordinary rice, dyed and then sold as black rice. Natural black rice will also lose color after washing, but it is not as bad as dyed black rice. When purchasing black rice, you can conduct sensory identification from the following aspects:
First look: Look at the color and appearance of organic black rice. Generally, black rice is shiny, the grains are uniform in size, there are few broken rice, burst waist (cracks on the rice grains), no insects, and no impurities. Substandard and inferior black rice has dull color, uneven rice grain size, poor plumpness, many broken rice, insects, and lumps.
Second smell: smell the smell of black rice. Take a small amount of black rice in your hand, breathe hot air into the black rice, and then smell the smell immediately. High-quality black rice has a normal fragrance and no other odor. Three tastes: taste the black rice. You can take a small amount of organic black rice and chew it in your mouth, or grind it and taste it again. High-quality black rice has a good taste, is slightly sweet, and has no peculiar smell. Black rice that has no taste, slight odor, sourness, bitterness and other unpleasant tastes is inferior to inferior black rice.

This kind of red rice not only does not contain The nutrients of real red rice, and artificial colors are also harmful to the human body. In order to allow you to identify the authenticity before buying, we use the following tricks to make fake red rice appear:
1. Because the red skin of real red rice is naturally formed, it is generally They are all thicker. When purchasing, you can gently scrape them with your fingernails. If it takes a few times to reach the white core part, it means it is genuine. If it only takes one time to see the white part, it is fake. And the red paint will stay on your hands.
2. If you cannot confirm whether it is fake red rice at the time of purchase, you can buy less and then soak the red rice in water for a few minutes. If the water becomes very red and the rice appears If the water turns white, this is fake red rice; if the water appears reddish, use your fingernails to scrape off the red skin, this is real red rice.
3. Because red rice is a primitive rice species, most of China’s ancestors originally planted this variety. It was only later that changes occurred through continuous improvement and planting under different geographical conditions. In recent years, due to the popularity of high-yielding hybrid rice, this low-yielding rice species is no longer planted in large quantities. At the same time, the soil and mineral content in different places are different, so the nutritional value of the same rice seed is also different. Therefore, do not buy low-quality or poor-quality red rice in the hope of cheap prices, but choose varieties grown in the original ecological environment in high-cold mountainous areas, such as Jinggangshan red rice and Xinhuang Dong Tibetan red rice. Only in this way can it play a therapeutic role and supplement the required nutrients.
