“Bahari, this is an exquisite snack that Xinjiang ethnic minorities must put on the table during New Years and holidays. It is a traditional pastry of the Uyghur people. It was originally a snack of the Russian people, also known as It’s a black cake. Let me introduce to you a simple version of Bahari. The honey taste is very rich and you will definitely like it. ”

The practice of Xinjiang Bahari
1.
Beat five eggs until smooth. Try to choose a larger container for beating because other ingredients will be added later.
2.
Add honey, salad oil, sugar and milk to the egg liquid and stir.
3.
Add the melted chocolate into the egg liquid. The specific amount of chocolate is customized, and then add the chopped walnuts and raisins and stir. You can also add cocoa powder to the chocolate here. The more the amount, the darker the color. I add less.
4.
Slowly pour the flour into the previous egg liquid, stirring while pouring.
5.
Add baking soda and stir until it flows. According to the proportion I mentioned, the mixture should be very thin and flow slowly after successful mixing.
6.
Spread a layer of oil on the baking sheet before spreading to prevent sticking. I used a very shallow baking pan, so I spread it in a thin layer.
7.
Mine is a simple small oven with no functions, and the baking pan is also very compact. Preheat the oven for two minutes and start baking. Place it in the middle and bake for about 7 minutes. Do not take it out in time when the time is up. Use the residual heat to bake for another two minutes. The ingredients configured in the proportions I mentioned can bake many, many small baking pans like this. Since they are used for Chinese New Year, I bake more.
8.
Take it out to dry before slicing. Normally, we will slice it and put it on a small plate for guests to eat. Because I didn’t put too much chocolate or cocoa powder, the color is not dark, it depends on personal preference!
