The original design prototype of the ice pier is not "panda" but "Sugar-Coated Berry". Xue Rongrong's original ideas were not only "red lanterns", but also "Chinese knots".

The ice pier is a combination of ice crystal shell and panda, which not only reflects the characteristics of ice and snow sports, but also gives people a sense of cuteness and technology in MengMeng, and the overall shape is a bit like an astronaut. The colorful ring of the panda's head is inspired by the National Speed Skating Hall of the Winter Olympics-"Ice Ribbon", the shell of the panda's head is inspired by the snow sports helmet, the shell of the panda is inspired by the crystal sugar shell of Sugar-Coated Berry, and the placement of the panda's two arms is inspired by the snowboard.

The inspiration for the melting of snow comes from red lanterns. The red lanterns not only have the festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival in China, but also glow from the inside out, which can symbolize lighting up dreams and warming the world, which is very suitable for the characteristics of the Winter Paralympics. There is a wishful ring on the top of the snow-melting head, and there is a pattern of the Great Wall wall covered by snow under the wishful ring, and then there is a group of continuous patterns composed of doves of peace and the Temple of Heaven below. The snow on the face is a facial form naturally formed by flapping snow.
