2. Transactions were conducted within the Koumcha market. The buyer first gives the silver to the paymaster, who weighs it and determines its value based on the prevailing price of silver.
3. The seller or his representative finds a buyer within the Koumcha market and sells the goods to the buyer.
4. The paymaster converts the silver received according to the standard of the coins and determines how much silver should actually be paid by that buyer.
5. The buyer gives the paid silver to the cashier, who gives the goods to the buyer, completing the transaction.
This method was common in ancient trade and is no longer used today.
