Another "Mr. Li California Beef Noodle Restaurant" was founded by Chongqing native Li Beiqi, an overseas Chinese in California. From 1972 to 1974, he opened three "beef noodle king" restaurants in Chinatown, Montreal Park and Alhambra in Los Angeles, and expanded to seven in 1979. After that, he opened a franchise store in China under the name of "California Beef Noodle King".

Beef noodles are not common in California, USA. The raw materials of the above two "California Beef Noodles", including noodles, beef, spices and production technology, all come from China. The name "California" is just a marketing strategy.
