Shaanxi province has an area of 205,600 square kilometers. Shaanxi jurisdiction spans 7°54′ latitude from north to south, with a maximum straight-line distance of 863 kilometers. The northernmost point of the province is north of Liu Jiapo in Fugu County, with a geographic latitude of 39°35′ N.
The southernmost point of the province is Sugishuping, at the southern edge of Zhenping County, with a geographic latitude of 31°41′ N. East and west across the longitude of 5°46′, the maximum straight-line distance of about 510 kilometers, the average width of about 400 kilometers.

Geomorphologic Types
According to the index of geomorphologic types, Shaanxi Province is divided into six geomorphologic types of regions, namely, Wind-Sand Transitional Zone, Loess Plateau Zone, Guanzhong Plain Zone, Qinling Mountain Region, Hanjiang Basin Zone, and Daba Mountain Region.
In the area of each landform type in Shaanxi Province, the Loess Plateau Area is the largest, accounting for 40%, and the Han River Basin Area is the smallest, accounting for 5%; among the areas of each landform type, the highest average elevation is in the Qinling Mountain Area, which is 1,295 meters, and the lowest average elevation is in the Guanzhong Plain Area, which is 546 meters.
Shaanxi Province, the elevation section is mainly distributed between 500 meters and 2000 meters, the area of about 90% of the province. The average elevation of Shaanxi Province is 1127 meters; the highest average elevation in each city is Baoji City, at 1351 meters, and the lowest average elevation is Weinan City, at 675 meters.
