A, Dendrobium planting methods

Substrate substrate materials used in the first choice of bark, followed by sawdust shavings, all need to be crushed, sterilized, fermentation treatment, usually a mixture of several materials and different degrees of coarseness and fineness of the substrate. However, due to the dendrobium planting more and more widely, the sale of substrate business is also a lot, if you are afraid of trouble or inconvenience, you can consider buying directly.

Planting

Put a small layer of gravel on the bottom of the pot before planting, so that the water seepage and permeability is better, when planting the seedling roots need to be unfolded, the roots will be placed on the substrate in the pot, and then the substrate to cover the roots can be remembered, don't bury the roots too deep, this is because the dendrobium is an aerial root of the plant's sake, too deep to affect the development and growth of the roots. Finally watering (if the water is tap water, it is best to expose to the sun for a period of time to evaporate the chlorine).

Two, dendrobium maintenance

Light

In the breeding of potted dendrobium, to ensure that there is sufficient light, but also can not let the sun shine directly, also can not be placed in the light of the dark place. In general, when the sunlight exposure is stronger, move the dendrobium potted plant to a place where the sunlight can not be direct; when the light is weak, you can place the dendrobium potted plant in direct sunlight.

Watering

Dendrobium should be watered thoroughly every time it is watered. However, it is not necessary to water every day; the substrate should be watered only when it appears to be dry. Generally, water once in 2-3 days when it is hot, and once in 12-15 days when it is cold. Also, when watering, you should not use tap water directly. You have to leave the tap water for a day or so, or leave it in the sun for a while, before you can use it.

Spring: usually water when the substrate surface is dry, watering once in the morning and once in the evening on a sunny day, watering time is suitable to choose between 10-12 a.m., the temperature rises to about 25 ℃, the water temperature of 15 ℃ or more is appropriate.

Summer: watering once a day in the morning and evening on sunny days, cloudy days and rainy days, according to the humidity of the substrate appropriate watering or no watering. Summer temperatures are high, watering time is suitable for the early morning or evening.

Autumn: watering once a day or two to three days between sunny days, rainy days, according to the humidity of the substrate to make up for the water or do not water. Watering time is suitable to choose between 10 to 12 o'clock in the morning, the temperature rises to about 25 ℃, the water temperature of 15 ℃ or more is appropriate.

Winter: 2 to 3 days watering once, watering must be a one-time watering, watering through. Winter temperatures are low, the substrate moisture should be dry rather than wet, so watering should not be more.

Fertilization. Dendrobium needs some nutrients during the growth process to make it healthy and thriving. When raising potted dendrobiums, proper fertilization should be done when the dendrobium leaf stems appear to be yellowing, weakening or diseased or infested. The fertilizer used for planting dendrobium is specially designed for dendrobium after long-term experiments and researches by researchers.

Ventilation. The growth of dendrobium needs air circulation. Therefore, the pot for planting dendrobium should choose a porous one to guarantee that the substrate can be ventilated and reduce pests and diseases. At the same time, you should place the dendrobium pot in an air-circulating location or open the window frequently to ventilate.

Pests and diseases. Dendrobium growing process, more or less will get some disease or, but don't worry, dendrobium has its own proprietary cure agent, as long as found in time, spraying in time, generally will not appear too big a problem. And for those pests that covet dendrobium, it is best to use artificial way to get rid of insects, to avoid excessive drug residues on dendrobium.
