The sea anemone is a water-growing predator that belongs to the cnidarians, an order of the subclass Hexactinellid corals, classified in the kingdom Animalia, phylum Cnidaria, class Corallinae, subclass Hexactinellid corals, and order Anemones.

Sea anemone is an invertebrate, monotreme two embryonic lower animals. There is no exoskeleton, all live in the ocean. There are very many species.

The body of the sea anemone is cylindrical, radially symmetrical, with a slightly enlarged lower end (base), called the basal disc, which secretes mucus. Due to the role of mucus and muscles, can be fixed in shallow water on rocks, stakes or shells, crab claws, some species once fixed will no longer move, but also some species can be slightly sliding on it.

The upper end of the body of the anemone for the flat round mouth plate, the center has a long slit-like mouth, generally in the mouth on each side of a narrower depression, known as the mouth channel groove, the mouth channel groove cells on the wall with cilia, when the cilia swing, can be caused to contain tiny organisms of the fresh water along the mouth channel groove into the digestive cavity, not only to obtain food, but also gas exchange, containing metabolic wastes of the water, and then flows out through the oral tract and the central part of the mouth. The anemone's mouth is surrounded by fully extended soft and beautiful petal-like tentacles, like a vibrant sunflower, hence the name.
