Kalopanax septemlobus happened to meet nosebleed grass in the wild today, and I took some pictures conveniently, which was very impressive. It's really hard for people to know whether nosebleed grass is true or not. From the appearance, it should be a plant of Labiatae, a bit like Pogostemon (the origin of another name for peppermint), but some people call it Chenopodium album. In fact, what we usually call nosebleed is indeed a labiatae plant, which is officially called bee flower, which may be related to its flower size similar to that of bees and easy to attract bees. 1. Nostoc commune is not Chenopodiaceae. The reason why it is difficult to find water dropwort is that it is not only another name of water dropwort, but also recorded as water dropwort in plant names and materia medica in southern Yunnan, so it is also called water dropwort, Schizonepeta tenuifolia and Chenopodium yunnanense. But because of this, many people (including some people under this problem) are surprised that some encyclopedias even decorate pictures of Chenopodiaceae plants.
The plant in the picture below is Chenopodium ambrosioides of Chenopodiaceae, which is obviously different from nosebleed grass and bee grass. Everyone should pay attention to the distinction.
Second, the appearance characteristics of nosebleed grass is a perennial herb with underground stems. The aboveground stems are erect or nearly erect, branched, quadrangular and have four shallow grooves, which also wins the nickname of small square grass.
Leaves have a slender petiole, 0.2 ~ 2.5 cm long, the petiole is full of fur, and the abdomen is concave and convex; The leaves are oval, with sparse serrated edges, sparse pubescence on the front, almost hairless on the back, and some leaves are only pubescent along the veins.
Flowers and plants with cymes grow in the axils of stems and branches; Pedicel short and pubescent, calyx bell-shaped like sesame calyx, corolla reddish or white.
Third, use nosebleed grass.
As a herbal medicine, people will not have nosebleeds after smelling them, but they can use it to stop bleeding after nosebleeds, which is also recorded in some herbal classics.
