Ceramic plates can be heated in the microwave.

To heat food in a microwave oven, you can use a microwave-specific lunch box. If ordinary household plates or bowls are made of porcelain, they can be heated in a microwave oven (note that if the plates or bowls are painted with gold lines or Silver wire cannot be placed in the microwave oven, as it will generate sparks during heating and damage the microwave oven).

Containers that cannot be heated in a microwave oven:

1. Ordinary plastic containers. First, hot food will deform plastic containers, and second, ordinary plastics will release toxic substances, contaminating food and endangering human health.

2. Metal utensils. When a microwave oven is heating, it will generate sparks and reflect microwaves from iron, aluminum, stainless steel, enamel and other utensils placed in the oven, which will damage the oven body and heat undercooked food.

3. Close the container. Wide-mouth containers should be used when heating liquids, because the heat generated by heating food in a closed container is not easily dissipated, causing excessive pressure in the container and easily causing explosion accidents.
