To go to Songshan can first take a train or plane to arrive in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, in Zhengzhou Railway Station opposite the city long-distance passenger station to Dengfeng City at the foot of the Zhongyue Songshan, and then from Dengfeng City, take the Chinese bus can be Shaolin Temple, Zhongyue Temple, Stargazer Terrace, and other major attractions (a lot of cars, the people are full that is to open). It takes about 3 hours to go from Zhengzhou to the famous Shaolin Temple in Songshan via Dengfeng. There is a special one-day tour bus from Zhengzhou Railway Station to visit the Han Tomb of Ta Hu Ting, Zhongyue Temple, Songyang Academy and Shaolin Temple in Xinmi City, with a round-trip ticket of 40 yuan.

Luoyang is closer to the Shaolin Temple, which can be reached in less than 2 hours. There are tourist shuttles directly to Shaolin Temple at 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. every day from the east side of Luoyang Railway Station. Long-distance buses from Luoyang to Dengfeng all pass through the Shaolin Road junction, from which it is only 2 kilometers to the Shaolin Temple.

Songshan National Forest Park is located in the northwest of Dengfeng City, Henan Province, belonging to the eastern extension of the Qinling mountain system of the remnants of the east, east-west length of nearly 100 kilometers, north-south width of about 60 kilometers, with a total area of about 1,200 square kilometers, by the Zhongshan Mountain and Songshan Mountain consists of, containing the three Huangzhai scenic area, Shaolin Temple scenic area, Songyin Scenic Area, the Zhongyue Scenic Area and Maanshan Scenic Area of the five major parts. The park's vegetation type mainly consists of warm-temperate coniferous forests, broad-leaved forests, trees and shrubs, and contains a small number of flowering plants and medicinal plants. The park became one of the first ten forest parks in China in 1986.

Songshan National Forest Park belongs to the warm-temperate continental monsoon climate, with the average annual temperature ranging from 12 to 14.2 degrees Celsius, and the average temperature of the hottest month 27.3 degrees Celsius. It mainly consists of cork oak forests, mistletoe forests, chemical incense forests, mountain poplar forests, mistletoe oak forests, yellow sandalwood forests, and types of hairy sumac thickets, wild hawthorn thickets, thorn thickets, six-doctawood thickets, and beautiful huckleberry thickets. As of March 2015, there are more than 180 families, 720 genera, and 1,442 species of plants, with a full range of coniferous forests, broadleaf forests, trees, shrubs, flowers, and herbs.

Sankuangzhai Scenic Spot is located at the western foot of Shaoru Mountain on Songshan Mountain, with humanistic landscapes such as the Lotus Temple, Qingweigong Palace, Anyang Palace, Sankuang Temple, Pangu Cave, and Jade Emperor Temple.
