Purple Dew Grass, also known as Temperance Leaf and Duckweed, is a perennial herb. It prefers a warm and humid climate. It is native to South America, central Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay. Morphologically, purple dew grass stems creeping growth, up to 60cm long, with purple halo, nodes slightly expanded, easy to root. Leaves are alternate, oblong or ovoid, pointed, with white stripes only at the upper end of the leaf sheaths. The most important feature of purple dew grass is the small, white flowers, summer and fall bloom.
