History of the dish
There is a legend about the origin of Mao Doufu, which is that, according to legend, Zhu Yuanzhang, after losing the battle in Huizhou, fled to the area of Xiuning. Xiuning area, the hunger in the stomach, ordered his entourage to look around for food, an entourage from the haystacks searched for fleeing people hiding a few pieces of tofu here, but has fermented hairy, because nothing else, the entourage had to put this tofu in the charcoal fire roasted for Zhu Yuanzhang to eat. Unexpectedly, the flavor of the tofu is very delicious, Zhu Yuanzhang ate very happy.
