Alias of boat-fruited Sterculia: sea, sea seed, big hole fruit, big hair, dried mature seeds of boat-fruited Sterculia. Spindle or oval, 2 ~ 3 cm long and1~1.5 cm in diameter. Boat-fruited Sterculia is a deciduous tree, which is native to Vietnam, India, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, and is suitable for planting in tropical areas. In the sun, the buds grow fat and the leaves are wide and thick green.
The apex is blunt and round, the base is slightly sharp and crooked, with a light-colored round hilum, brown or dark brown surface, slightly shiny, and irregular shrinkage wrinkles. The outer peel is extremely thin, brittle and easy to fall off. The middle peel is thick, dark brown, loose and fragile, and swells into sponge when it meets water. Scattered resinous dots can be seen on the cross section. The inner pericarp can be peeled off from the middle pericarp, slightly leathery, and there are 2 thick endosperm in it, which are broadly oval; 2 cotyledons, thin, close to the inside of endosperm, as big as endosperm. Slight gas, light taste, sticky to chew.
