On Children's Day, families with boys will hang carp banners outside their doors and put dolls of famous warriors or other heroes at home. The moral of carp comes from China's "carp yue longmen", which is of course parents' earnest expectation for boys. Silk or cloth carp flags are also very particular. There are basically only three carp, the black one represents father (big), the red one represents mother (big), the blue one represents a boy (small) at home, and the green one represents more than two boys at home.
In recent years, with more and more people moving into apartments or smaller houses, carp banners are getting smaller and smaller, and now there are miniature carp banners hanging indoors.
