What's the difference between loofah and okra?
1, different shapes
Luffa is cylindrical, its length is generally 15cm-30cm, and its surface is smooth with dark longitudinal lines. Okra, on the other hand, is cylindrical and spire-shaped, angular and with fluff on its surface. Its length is only 10cm-25cm, which is slightly smaller than that of loofah.
2, the taste is different
Luffa tastes sweet and soft, and its skin is thick and chewy. Some loofahs are easy to soften and turn black after peeling. Okra is sticky to eat. It has a special sticky taste, fresh and tender, and its soup is thick.
3. Different cooking methods
Luffa needs to be cooked at high temperature, fried directly or boiled in soup. Luffa can't be eaten raw, but okra can be eaten raw. Okra is mainly used for cooking soup, stir-frying, cold salad, making pickles or frying. Luffa needs to be peeled and decapitated when cooking, and gumbo needs to be removed from it.
