Species
There are four main types of shellfish according to the region of production, which are Chuan Bei Mu, Tu Bei Mu, Zhe Bei Mu, and Xin Jiang Bei Mu. In addition to these four categories, there are other regions that also produce Phellodendron Bark, such as Phellodendron Bark in the Dabie Mountain region of Anhui Province and Phellodendron Bark in the southern Anhui Province. They are different in appearance due to the different natural environments they are exposed to in their respective regions of production.
Sichuan Beimu
Sichuan Beimu, as its name implies, is a species of shellfish produced mainly in the Sichuan region, hence its name. It is produced in North China, Northeast China, Tibet and Gansu.
Tu Bei Mu
Tu Bei Mu, mainly produced in Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi and other regions.
Zhebeimu
Zhebeimu, mainly produced in Zhejiang.
Xinjiang Beimu
Xinjiang Beimu, mainly produced in the Xinjiang area. It grows in a special environment, mostly in mountains, grasslands and bushes. In Xinjiang, there are several varieties of Xinjiang mussels, including Ili mussels, Fergan mussels, and beach mussels.
