Before high school, we always thought that the pronunciation of sesame paste was "Hu", because when we were young, our family sent us messages of "Hu", but in a high school Chinese class, we learned that when this word and sesame formed the phrase "sesame paste", it was "Hu".

In Sichuan dialect, people read this word as "four tones", but in my memory, I mispronounced this word for nearly ten years! It is also because of this word that I accidentally found that it was originally read "tun" at the Chinese test center of the college entrance examination.

However, I found that every time a university teacher calls the roll in class, from freshman to junior, every time he changes teachers, he habitually sends out "four-tone jade". In fact, this word reads "two-tone residence" and is a combination of "king" and "jade". A seemingly simple word is difficult for many people (teachers).
The word "Qi" also comes from a person's name, and since the student days, most people who call his name for the first time have pronounced it as "four-tone Zhao" because they are still used to recognizing half a word, but in fact the pronunciation of this word is "two-tone Yao".
This is a typical polyphonic word, but when used in a name, the pronunciation is only "Yao".
