Shenyang Normal University, affiliated to Liaoning Provincial People's Government, is a multidisciplinary university covering eight categories, including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering and management. The school has 22 secondary colleges and 14 school-run library centers.
Tourism Management was established in 1993 and officially enrolled in 1994. It is the earliest undergraduate major in tourism management in Northeast China. In 2000, based on this major, the Tourism Department was established, and in the same year, the second master's degree in tourism management in Northeast China was obtained. 200 1 Shenyang Normal University signed a cooperation agreement with Anshan Yongan Tourism Service Co., Ltd. to establish a tourism management college and implement the board system.
Tourism Management College has three levels: postgraduate education, undergraduate education and higher vocational and technical education (junior college). After 5 years' development, there are 4 full-time teachers, 20 part-time teachers and 934 students. In 2006, our school was approved by the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education as a training base for tourism undergraduate talents in short supply. In 2007, this major was approved as a provincial-level demonstration major, a national-level university specialty and a training base for senior tourism management talents in Liaoning Province. At present, it is the only provincial demonstration major of tourism management in Liaoning Province, and it is also one of the only two national characteristic majors of tourism management in China. Relying on the center to serve the local economy, in 2007, the College of Tourism Management, where this major is located, was awarded the title of "Advanced Collective Supporting Tourism Development" by the Liaoning Provincial Government, and it is the only college in our province that has won this honor.
Professor Xia, the leader of tourism management discipline, is currently the director of the experimental teaching center of tourism management, the dean, professor and tutor of master students of the School of Tourism Management. The first professional leader of tourism management in Liaoning Province, director of the Research Center of Tourism Science and Planning of Shenyang Normal University, executive director of China Regional Tourism Development Society, and president of Liaoning Tourism Education Society. Engaged in teaching, experiment and scientific research of tourism management specialty for a long time. In recent years, * * * has published more than 20 academic papers, presided over more than one national and provincial-level project 10, set an example in teaching reform, experimental teaching reform and scientific research, and won many honorary titles such as "March 8th Red Flag Bearer" and "Excellent Teacher".
Due to the strong practicality of tourism management specialty, the School of Tourism Management has always attached importance to experiment and practice teaching. In order to adapt to the development goal of "teaching and research" in Shenyang Normal University, the School of Tourism Management has further clarified the guiding ideology of experimental practice teaching, focusing on improving students' practical application ability and innovation ability, and constantly strengthening laboratory construction. The experimental center of tourism management has experienced three stages of development. In 2000, the establishment of guest room laboratory and catering laboratory marked the beginning of tourism management laboratory. From 2003 to 2007, it was a large-scale development stage of tourism management laboratory. Through the improvement and construction of catering laboratory, nutrition catering laboratory, guest room laboratory, training hall, multifunctional comprehensive laboratory, bar laboratory and tea bar laboratory, the experimental center has reached 1.236 square meters, with a total investment of about 6.5438+0.85 million yuan. Since 2007, the connotation of tourism management laboratory has been improved. Three digital laboratories of tourism enterprise management, tourism planning and design and hotel operation management have been established. The experimental center has a total area of 1.524 square meters and a total investment of about 36 1.25 million yuan, which not only enhances the connotation of experimental teaching, but also greatly improves students' ability to realize independent innovation and design with the help of high technology and network platform.
At present, there are 14 laboratories in the Tourism Management Teaching Experimental Center, including digital laboratory of tourism planning and design, digital laboratory of tourism enterprise management, digital laboratory of tourism multi-function, digital laboratory of hotel operation, experimental restaurant, nutrition catering laboratory, experimental bar, tea room, reception desk, guest room 1, guest room 2, guest room 3, guest room 4 and training hall. It undertakes the experimental teaching tasks in three major directions: tourism hotel management, travel agency management and tourism planning, the vocational skills examination tasks of secondary vocational education and higher vocational colleges in Liaoning Province, and the practical teaching tasks of training bases for talents lacking in higher vocational education in Liaoning Province, training bases for tourism senior management talents and training double-qualified classes.
In order to test the results of experimental teaching and form an open and diversified development pattern, our college has established a solid internship employment base with high-star hotels, travel agencies, tourist attractions and tourism colleges in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Sanya, Haikou and Shenyang, and interns have been awarded the titles of "Excellent Internship Group", "Excellent Intern" and "Service Star" for many times. Graduates have a good employment situation and are well received by employers. From 2004 to 2006, our hospital was rated as "Advanced Employment Unit" for three consecutive years. In 2006, Wang Hai, deputy secretary of the General Party Branch of our college, was awarded the title of "Excellent Employment Worker for College Graduates in Liaoning Province"; Shen Wei, a student work counselor, was awarded the title of "Excellent Employment Worker" by the school. In 2007 -2008, our college exchanged experiences at the school employment conference for two consecutive years.
In the process of building the center, it has been highly concerned and praised by people from all walks of life inside and outside the school. Deputy Director of National Tourism Administration, Office of National Tourism Administration, Li, Department of Personnel and Labor Education of National Tourism Administration, Director of Finance and Economics Department of Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, Hao Yamei, Director of Liaoning Provincial Tourism Administration, Deputy Director of Liaoning Provincial Tourism Administration, Qu Zhuangzhi, Deputy Director of Liaoning Provincial Tourism Administration, Wang Wei, Deputy Director of Liaoning Provincial Tourism Administration Ying Zhongyuan, Wu, Director of Higher Education Department of Liaoning Provincial Education Department, Tourism Planning Expert of World Tourism Organization, Professor of Peking University Tourism Research and Planning Center, and other leaders visited the center and fully affirmed them. New Zealand education experts, leaders and teachers from more than 40 universities including Peking University, Wuhan University and Nanjing University visited the center, and the demonstration and radiation effect of the center were obvious.
Teachers in our college rely on the experimental center of Tourism Management College to integrate theory with practice and serve the local economy through topics, projects, on-the-job training and qualification training. In the past three years, * * * has completed more than 60 topics and projects, and carried out a lot of planning, planning, management and scientific research work for tourist attractions and hotels in Liaoning Province. At the same time, relying on the experimental center, more than 0/000 tour guides, more than 0/000 bartenders and tea artists have been trained, and nearly 200 "double-qualified" teachers in higher vocational colleges in Liaoning Province have been trained, which has made important contributions to the training of tourism talents in Liaoning Province.
Tourism management experimental teaching center and professional theory teaching complement each other, and have achieved remarkable results in integrating theory with practice. The center provides venues and equipment for the teaching of 22 experimental courses and 98 experimental projects. In 2007, the number of students using the laboratory was 3042, and the class hours were 43254 hours, which greatly improved teachers' teaching experiment and scientific research level, and also improved students' perceptual knowledge, professional skills, design ability and scientific research innovation ability. In 2003, Yao Jia won the silver prize of "National College Students' Entrepreneurship Plan". In the "Challenge Cup" competition for college students in Liaoning Province, eight students in our college won provincial awards and six won school-level awards. In 2005, she won the "Best Image Award" in the finals of the 12th Miss World Tour in China, and Xing won the "Excellence Award" in Northeast China. Twenty people won the honorary titles of "Star Tour Guide" and "Excellent Tour Guide" in various tour guide competitions in provinces and cities.
In the future construction and development, the Tourism Management Experimental Teaching Center will continue to adhere to the "student-oriented" concept, strengthen the important position of experimental teaching in the training of tourism management professionals, strengthen the research and exploration of experimental teaching rules of tourism management majors, increase the proportion of innovative design, constantly improve the experimental teaching system conducive to cultivating students' practical ability and innovative ability, build a management mechanism of high-quality "double-qualified" experimental teaching team, and comprehensively improve the experimental teaching level.
