Since the Qin dynasty dominated the country, and then burned books to bury Confucianism, it was used to bind people's hearts, and so were many subsequent dynasties. With the support of the state, many sects have naturally been suppressed, and Confucianism, which has a higher and higher status, has become more and more formalized. From Zhu Cheng's Neo-Confucianism to stereotyped writing, it has only maintained imperial power without any connotation. Therefore, China in this period not only shrank from this humanistic thought. In modern times, under the long-term erosion and suppression of external forces, most people have become weak and incompetent, not to mention new ideas. Only a few people like Lu Xun can stand up and awaken the people with lofty national spirit. Then, the field of China's humanistic thought, which has already entered the trough, has just improved and suffered a blow. There have been several cultural purges: the Revolution of 1911, the Three Anti-five evils Movement and the Cultural Revolution, and the whole culture of China has taken a big step backwards. Since modern times, China has strongly advocated Marx and Engels and believed in science, while traditional thinkers such as Confucius and Zhuangzi are now called philosophers or educators, but it is difficult to make great progress (but there are also some, such as Li Ao). First, because carelessness will be regarded as idealism, most people develop along Marxist philosophy. How many amazing theories can they develop? Second, with the rapid development of material civilization, this purely academic field will naturally be unpopular.
