The General Administration of Market Supervision recently issued the Provisions on Supervision and Management of Enterprises Implementing the Responsibility of Food Safety Subjects, requiring food production and operation enterprises to establish and improve the food safety management system and equip them with food safety officers. Food production and marketing enterprises with a certain scale shall be equipped with food safety officers and food safety officers. The director of food safety and the food safety officer shall, when discovering the hidden dangers of food safety accidents, put forward veto suggestions such as stopping related food production and business activities. These Provisions shall come into force on June 1 1 day, 2022.
The "Regulations" clearly stated that food production and operation enterprises should at least be equipped with 1 food safety officer; Special food production enterprises, large and medium-sized food production enterprises, headquarters of large and medium-sized catering service enterprises and chain catering enterprises, headquarters of large and medium-sized food sales enterprises and chain marketing enterprises, kindergarten canteens with more than 300 people dining, school canteens with more than 500 people dining, 1000 people dining or catering units shall be equipped with food safety officers according to law. The food safety director and the food safety director can be full-time or part-time.
